If you select multiple groups as recipients — or mix groups with individually selected members — it is possible for the same person to appear in more than one selection. The system automatically handles this so that no member receives duplicate copies of the same message.
How It Works
Before sending, the system compiles all email addresses from every selected group and individual. If the same email address appears more than once (for example, because a member is both a Resident and a member of the Pool Committee group), it is counted and sent to only once.
This deduplication happens automatically — you do not need to do anything special to enable it.
What This Means for Recipient Counts
The send confirmation dialog shows your selected audience ("All members" with a count, or "Custom selection"), not a final email tally. Deduplication happens during the send itself. The actual number of emails delivered — visible in the delivery report afterwards — will never be higher than your audience size, and may be lower if the same address appears in multiple groups.
Members with Multiple Email Addresses
If a member has more than one email address on file (for example, a primary and an alternate, or a spouse/partner email), each valid address receives a copy. This is not considered a duplicate — each address is treated separately.
