This article walks you through creating a new message from scratch, editing an existing draft, and duplicating a past message to save time.
Creating a New Message
- Navigate to Administer Site > Modules > Messaging. This opens the Email List tab, which shows all Draft, Scheduled, and Sent messages on one page.
- Click Create Message (top of the page).
- Fill in the Recipients section — choose who will receive the message. (See "Choosing Recipients" for details.)
- Fill in the Email Contentsection:
- Reply-to Email — Members will see this address if they hit Reply. This field is required.
- Subject — The subject line of the email. This field is required.
- Template — Optionally select a branded layout to wrap around your message.
- Message — The body of your message. Use the editor toolbar to format text, add images, and insert links. This field is required.
- Attachments — Optionally attach files (up to 5 files total).
- Click Preview to review how the email will look before saving.
- Click Save to store the message as a draft.
Editing a Draft
You can edit a message any time before it is sent.
- Navigate to Administer Site > Modules > Messaging.
- Find your draft in the Draft Messages section and click the action menu (the 3 dots) next to it.
- Click Edit.
- Make your changes and click Save.
Note: If a message has been scheduled, you can edit its content up until the scheduled send time arrives. After that point the form locks — cancel the schedule, make your changes, then reschedule.
Duplicating a Message
Duplicating creates a new draft pre-filled with all the content from an existing message — a useful shortcut when sending a similar message to a different audience, or repeating a monthly update.
- Navigate to Administer Site > Modules > Messaging and find the message you want to copy (it can be in any section — Draft Messages, Scheduled Messages, or Sent Messages).
- Click the action menu next to the message.
- Click Duplicate.
- A new draft form opens with all fields pre-filled from the original. Edit as needed.
- Click Save to create the copy as a new draft.
Note: The duplicate is always saved as a new draft — it does not inherit the sent status or delivery history of the original.
