Understanding Request Statuses

Every request in the system has a status that reflects where it stands in the workflow. Understanding statuses helps you keep track of what needs action.

The Status Values

The available statuses are configured in a system list. The standard statuses are:

  • New — The request has just been submitted and has not yet been acted on.
  • In Progress — Work has started on the request.
  • Completed — The request has been resolved and closed.

Note: Your community may have additional custom statuses configured by your site provider. The full list appears in the Status dropdown on any request form.

Where Statuses Appear

  • In the Requests list, the Status column shows each request's current status.
  • On the individual request detail page, you can update the status without entering edit mode — the status dropdown saves immediately when you submit its form.
  • You can filter the requests list by status using the Status dropdown at the top of the list.
