Adding a Sitter Listing

Updated 5/4/2026

Administrators add sitter listings on behalf of community members who want to appear in the directory.

How to Add a Listing

  1. Navigate to Administer Site > Find a Sitter.
  2. Click Add Sitter (top right of the page).
  3. Fill in the listing form (see fields below).
  4. Click Save to publish the listing, or Cancel to discard it.

Listing Form Fields

Name (required)

The sitter's full name as it will appear in the directory.

Will Sit For (required)

Check all services the sitter offers:

  • Baby — Babysitting
  • House — House sitting
  • Pet — Pet sitting
  • Plant — Plant care

At least one service must be selected.

Rate

An optional numeric rating for the sitter. This field is filled in by the administrator and is separate from resident-submitted star ratings in the Reviews section.

Qualifications (required)

A text description of the sitter's experience, certifications, training, and any other relevant background. This field supports basic text formatting.

Comments

Optional additional notes about the sitter. This field supports basic text formatting.

Email

The sitter's email address. Residents who view the listing can use this address to contact the sitter directly.

Phone

The sitter's phone number.

Show Ad (required)

Controls whether the listing is visible to residents.

  • Yes — The listing appears in the resident-facing directory. This is the default for new listings.
  • No — The listing is saved but does not appear to residents.

Availability

A grid showing days of the week (Sun through Sat) across the top and time slots down the left side. Check each cell where the sitter is available. See "Understanding the Availability Calendar" for a full description of the time slots.

After Saving

The new listing appears in the Sitter List table and, if its status is set to Visible, becomes immediately available to residents in the directory.

If email alerts are configured in Settings, an alert email is sent to the administrator address when a new listing is added by a resident through the resident-facing form. Listings added directly through the admin interface do not trigger alert emails.
