You can edit or delete any ad from the admin area — whether it was submitted by a resident or created by an administrator. Start by navigating to Administer Site > Classifieds > Ads and clicking the title of the ad you want to work with.
Editing an Ad
The Update Ad form opens with all current values pre-filled. All the same fields are available as when creating an ad: Title, Category, Status, Description, Price, Photos, and Publisher. Make your changes and click Save.
Changing an Ad's Status
Use the Status dropdown to change an ad's status. The available statuses are Active and Disabled (plus Pending if the ad was originally submitted in a pending state).
When you change the status of an existing ad, a checkbox appears: Send a status change email to the resident. This checkbox is checked by default. If you leave it checked, the resident who owns the ad will receive an email notifying them of the change, including the ad's title, description, price, new status, and any attached images.
Tip: Uncheck the email notification box if you are making a minor administrative correction and do not want to alert the resident.
Updating Photos
The photo upload area shows any previously uploaded images. You can add new photos (up to the 5-photo limit) or remove existing ones.
Note: If automatic expiration is configured, a notice at the top of the form shows the expiration policy. The expiration clock resets from the date the ad is last modified.
Deleting an Ad
Deletion is permanent — deleted ads cannot be recovered.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Update Ad form.
- Click Delete.
- A confirmation dialog appears asking you to confirm. Click OK to permanently delete the ad, or Cancel to go back.
Warning: Deleting an ad removes it permanently, including all associated photos. There is no way to undo this action.
