Administrators can create ads on behalf of any member, or post ads directly from the admin area.
How to Create an Ad
- Navigate to Administer Site > Classifieds > Ads.
- Click New Ad (top right of the page).
- Fill in the ad form:
Title (required)
Enter a clear, descriptive title for the ad.
Category (required)
Select the category the ad belongs to. Only visible, leaf-level categories appear in this list (parent categories that have subcategories are excluded — ads must be placed in a subcategory).
Status (required)
Set the initial status of the ad:
- Active — The ad will be visible to residents immediately after saving.
- Disabled — The ad will be saved but not visible.
Note: When creating an ad from the admin area, Pending is not an option. Pending status applies to ads submitted by residents that are awaiting review.
Description (required)
Enter the body of the ad. A rich text editor is available for formatting.
Price (optional)
Enter a numeric price. Leave blank if the ad does not involve a price.
Photos (optional)
Upload up to 5 photos for the ad. Images are displayed with the ad when residents view it.
Publisher (required)
This field is pre-filled with your admin username. Change it to the username of the member on whose behalf you are posting the ad.
- Click Save to create the ad.
Note: If automatic expiration is configured in Settings, a notice at the top of the form will tell you how many days ads remain active before expiring.
