Building a Header with the Website Editor

Updated 5/4/2026

The Website Editor header type gives you full control over your header content. You can combine images, text, and custom HTML — useful for headers that include your community logo alongside a community name or tagline.

How to Set Up an Editor Header

  1. Navigate to Administer Site > Settings > Header & Footer.
  2. The Header tab opens by default.
  3. Set Use Custom Header to Yes. Additional options appear below.
  4. Set Header Type to Website Editor.
  5. The Header Content editor appears. Use the toolbar to:
    • Insert and resize images.
    • Add formatted text.
    • Paste or write custom HTML using the source editor.
  6. Build your header layout in the editor area.
  7. Click Save.

Note: This header type is the default selection if no header type has been previously saved.

Tip: Most themes expect a header that fills the full width of the page. Design your content to work at the minimum width (typically 1024 pixels) and test at different browser sizes.
