Managing FAQ Questions

FAQ questions are the individual entries residents read. Each question must be assigned to an existing category. All question management takes place in the FAQs tab at Administer Site > FAQs.

Creating a Question

  1. If you want the new question to appear in a specific category's filtered list, use the Filter by category dropdown to select that category first.
  2. Click Create FAQ (top right of the page).
  3. Fill in the question form:
    • Category (required) — Select the category this question belongs to. The dropdown lists all categories sorted alphabetically.
    • Question (required) — The question text. Keep this concise — it is the heading residents click to expand the answer.
    • Answer (required) — The full answer. Use the rich text editor to format text, add links, or insert images.
    • Visibility (required) — Select On to publish the question immediately, or Off to hide it from residents.
  4. Click Save to create the question.

Note: Visibility defaults to On for new questions. If you set it to Off, the question will not appear to residents even if its category is visible.

After saving, the question appears in the FAQ list. If you filtered by a category before creating it, the question also appears in that category's draggable list, where you can set its order.

Editing a Question

You can update any part of a question — its category, text, answer, or visibility — at any time.

  1. If you know the category, use the Filter by category dropdown to narrow the list, then click the question title. Alternatively, leave the filter on "All categories" and click the question title in the full list.
  2. Update any of the fields: Category, Question, Answer, or Visibility.
  3. Click Save.

Note: Changing a question's Category moves it to the selected category immediately. Its position in the new category's order will be at the end — reorder it if needed.

Each row in the FAQ list also includes a preview link (the external link icon). Click it to open the question's public FAQ page in a new browser tab so you can see exactly what residents see.

Deleting a Question

  1. Open the question for editing (steps 1–2 above).
  2. Scroll below the form to find the Delete button.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. A confirmation dialog appears. Click OK to confirm.

Warning: Deletion is permanent. The question and its answer cannot be recovered.

Reordering Questions

When you view the FAQ list filtered to a single category, questions are shown in their display order and can be rearranged by dragging.

  1. Use the Filter by category dropdown to select the category whose questions you want to reorder.
  2. In the table, find the drag handle column (the arrow icon on the right side of each row).
  3. Click and hold the drag handle, then drag the row to its new position.
  4. Release to drop it. The order is saved automatically.

Note: Drag-and-drop ordering is only available when the list is filtered to a single category. In the unfiltered "All categories" view the list is sorted alphabetically and reordering is not available.
