Enabling and Disabling Modules

Updated 5/4/2026

The Enable/Disable Modules page gives you control over which features are active on your site. Turning a module off hides it from residents and removes it from the admin navigation. Turning it back on restores it immediately.

Getting There

  1. Log in with an administrator or board account.
  2. Click Administer Site in the top navigation bar.
  3. In the left-hand menu, click Settings, then select Enable/Disable Modules.

What You See

The page displays a single card titled Module Settings. Each row in the card represents one module. Every row shows:

  • The module name on the left. If the module has a description, the name is a link with a help icon — hover over it or click it to read a brief description of what the module does.
  • A toggle switch on the right. A switch in the on position (blue) means the module is currently enabled. A switch in the off position means it is disabled.

How to Enable or Disable a Module

  1. Find the module you want to change in the Module Settings list.
  2. Click the toggle switch next to the module name to flip it on or off.
    • Switch flipped to the right (blue) = module will be enabled when you save.
    • Switch flipped to the left (gray) = module will be disabled when you save.
  3. Repeat for any other modules you want to change in the same session.
  4. Click Save (blue button, bottom right) to apply all changes at once.

To discard all changes instead, click Cancel (bottom left). This returns you to the admin home page without saving anything.

Tip: You can change multiple module toggles in one visit and save them all with a single click of Save. There is no need to save after each individual toggle.

What Happens When You Save

  • Enabling a module makes it accessible to residents (if its resident-facing page is enabled) and restores it to the admin navigation.
  • Disabling a module hides it from the resident area of the site. If a resident attempts to navigate directly to a disabled module's URL, they will see a standard access-denied page.
  • No module data is deleted when you disable a module. Existing data stored by that module — such as calendar events, documents, or forum posts — is preserved and will reappear if you re-enable the module later.
  • A module you just enabled appears in the admin navigation immediately on your next page load.

Note: Some modules are always enabled and cannot be toggled. Their toggle switch is grayed out and cannot be changed. See "Why a Module Is Unavailable or Grayed Out" for details.

Note: Some modules require a paid or upgraded plan. If your site is not on the required plan, you can still enable and disable the toggle, but accessing the module in the admin area will show a plan upgrade prompt. See "Why a Module Is Unavailable or Grayed Out" for details.
