Messaging Module Overview

Updated 5/4/2026

The Messaging module is where you create and send messages to your community members, manage email templates, control who can message whom, and review delivery results. This article gives you an orientation to every section of the module before you dive in.

Getting There

  1. Log in to your site with an administrator account.
  2. Click Administer Site in the top navigation bar.
  3. In the left-hand menu, click Modules, then select Messaging.

The Four Sections

Once inside the Messaging module, you will see four options across the top.

Email List

This is the main workspace. It is divided into three sub-tabs:

  • Drafts — Messages you have started but not yet sent or scheduled.
  • Scheduled — Messages that are queued to send at a future date and time.
  • Sent — Messages that have already been delivered.

Templates List

Email templates are reusable branded layouts — a header, footer, and color scheme — that wrap around your message content. You manage your templates here.

Subscribed List

Shows you which members belong to each mailing group. Use this tab to verify that the right people are subscribed before you send.

Settings

Controls site-wide messaging behavior: whether residents can message each other, whether messages appear on the homepage as bulletins, and more. This tab is only visible to administrators.
