When a forum uses After Admin Approval for Message Approval, new posts are held in Pending status until an administrator takes action. Pending posts are not visible to members.
How to Find Pending Posts
- Navigate to Administer Site > Forums > Messages.
- Use the Status dropdown to select Pending.
- The table shows only posts awaiting approval.
How to Approve a Post
- Click the post's title to open the edit form.
- In the Status field, change the value from Pending to Active.
- Click Save.
The post is now visible to members who have access to the forum.
How to Reject a Post
If a post violates community guidelines or is otherwise inappropriate, you have two options:
- Disable it — Change Status to Disabled and click Save. The post remains in the database and can be re-enabled later, but is hidden from members.
- Delete it — Click Delete (requires administrator-level access; see "Editing or Deleting a Post"). The post is permanently removed.
Note: There is no automatic email notification sent to the member when you approve or reject their post. If your community's policy requires notifying members, send that communication separately.
