Both theme selection and page width are controlled from the Theme tab. A theme sets the overall visual design of your community website — colors, fonts, layout style, and the default header graphic. The page width setting controls how wide your site's content area is on larger screens. You can change either setting at any time without losing any content.
How to Select a Theme
- Navigate to Administer Site > Settings > Themes.
- The Theme tab opens by default. You will see a grid of theme cards, each showing a thumbnail preview and the theme name.
- Click the thumbnail image or the radio button below it to select a theme. The card border highlights in blue to confirm your selection.
- Click Save to apply the theme to your site.
Tip: Clicking the thumbnail is the same as clicking the radio button — both select the theme.
How Themes Are Organized
Themes are listed alphabetically by name. Each card shows:
- A thumbnail image representing the theme's color scheme and layout.
- A radio button and name label at the bottom of the card.
The currently active theme is pre-selected when you open the page, with its card outlined in blue.
Replacing the Header Graphic
Each theme includes a default header graphic. You can replace it with your own community logo or banner image without changing the theme itself.
To replace the header graphic, navigate to the Header & Footer section of your admin area. Changes made there apply on top of whichever theme is active.
Saving Your Changes
After selecting a theme, click Save at the bottom of the card. Click Cancel to discard your changes and return to the main admin page.
Note: Saving a new theme applies it immediately and site-wide. All visitors will see the new theme the next time they load a page.
Setting Your Page Width
The page width setting controls how wide your site's content area is on larger screens. This affects all pages across the site.
- On the Theme tab, find the Page Width dropdown near the top of the form.
- Select one of the three options:
- 1024px — A narrower fixed-width layout, suitable for communities that prefer a more compact, traditional web look.
- 1280px — A wider fixed-width layout that makes better use of larger monitors.
- 100% (full width) — The content area stretches to fill the full browser window width at any screen size.
- Click Save to apply the change.
Tip: If your members access the site on a wide variety of devices and screen sizes, 1280px is a common balanced choice. Use 100% (full width) if you want the site to fill the screen on all desktop sizes.
