The ticker speed controls how long each news item is displayed before the ticker advances to the next one. You can set this from 1 to 10 seconds.
How to Change the Ticker Speed
- Navigate to Administer Site > News Ticker.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Use the Ticker Speed dropdown to select a duration. The options range from 1 sec to 10 sec.
- Click Save to apply the change, or Cancel to discard it.
The default speed is 3 sec if no setting has been saved previously.
Choosing a Speed
- A shorter interval (1–2 seconds) cycles through items quickly but may not give residents enough time to read longer messages.
- A longer interval (5–10 seconds) gives readers more time but means they wait longer to see all items if you have many.
- 3 seconds is a reasonable starting point for most communities. Adjust based on the typical length of your news text.
